My name is Alex, and I was born and raised in Ukraine,
Inspired by my dad, who in the 1980's sailed the seas from Cuba to Singapore,
I explored over 60 countries,
experiencing adventures that shaped my understanding of what makes travel truly special. From competing on Bolivia's infamous
"Death Road" to celebrating New Year's Eve in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbor, from marveling at Harbin's snow and ice city,
to learning horseback archery in Mongolia, my travels were filled with unforgettable moments.
Spending two years under Covid lockdowns
and one year living in a warzone, I contemplated how much travel matters and I have been longing to hit the road in a fashion of a young Venetian
merchant Marco Polo. I quickly realized that I was not alone in my deep admiration for exploring the beauty of our world.
During my summer holidays,
I founded Academic Odyssey, a platform that connects curious students with experienced guides, who offer immersive and educational treks, which
balance fun and learning.
AO’s mission is to help fellow students craft experiences that go beyond
typical tourist paths, while fostering lifelong friendships and allowing travelers to
experience destinations like locals. I hope that you join me on this journey.
